Visit from Poland in Frankfurt

From last Saturday night to yesterday morning Darek from Warsaw stayed over at my place. I tried to show him the most interesting places that you should have seen here in FFM, so far as I know them after four weeks: Goethe-Haus, Roemer, Zeil, Alte Oper and the Welle, Berger Str. in Bornheim, Sachsenhausen’s night-life (including the famous Ebbelwoi at Wagners) and a few other locations such as the Lohberg where you can enjoy a gorgeous view from the North to Frankfurt. Check out some pics here (link still to come).

Tomorrow morning I am setting off to spend the weekend with Rob, Steph and Harald at Rob’s place in Frankfurt/Oder.

Being in Frankfurt

I am quite disappointed because I planned to do the Nike 10k Run in London’s Richmond Park this year on 07/09/2003 again, but the 20,000 places are already full after only two days – unbelievable.

The day before yesterday was my longest working hour with AXA IM ever – I worked 13 hours till 10.15pm. As a reward I went to dinner at a Italian place in the “Fressgasse” with my boss and Selina.
Over the weekend I checked out the CSD – Christopher Street Day – and an awesome techno club here in FFM, the U60311, which is located in the centre and was a rebuilt former subway station. Really cool sounds!

IN in a flash

Made a short visit in Ingolstadt yesterday – I think I broke a new personal record because I stayed less than 24 hours there. Actually I planned to write also today one exam, after I wrote one yesterday in the early morning in Finance (ABWL). But afterwards my feelings were quite guilty that I haven’t taken enough time to prepare myself properly. Therefore I thought the opportunity costs staying away from work today and write instead the second exam were to high.

Back from Edinburgh

The weekend in Edinburgh was much too short, but I somehow rediscovered the city and especially the beautiful coast where I lived for two nights. Ryanair was not that bad and also Hahn was more lovely on the way back than at the departure, but still much too far away.

Yesterday I went to my first after-work party here in Frankfurt, which was in the Eurotheum bar and really marvellous. Together with the French Vanessa, Catherine and a manager from Paris as well as with Dobra and her Italian friend we partied in this overcrowded pub till midnight. But actually I have to get used again to this kind of parties with all the business people.

Setting off to Edinburgh

Tomorrow early in the morning I will set off for Edinburgh to spend my weekend there – I am quite looking forward to this, though I have been there two times before and workload here is pretty much (still some papers to write and exams to take next week).

I will fly with Ryanair from Frankfurt-Hahn, which is somewhere misleading like everything in this company because this local airport is 125 km away from FFM and it will take me 1 hour 45 min. by bus to get there. So I am wondering how my first time with Ryanair will be. First time I do not get any miles on my Miles & More card :-(. Next time booking farer in advance for student conditions…
