Visiting Barbara in the Taunus

Today in the evening Mathieu and me went to Oberursel to see Barbara, a student friend of both of us. Mathieu has not seen her for two and half years. Therefore we had a nice reunion. Before this Barbara showed us around in this sleepy but quite nice Taunus “village” from which you can go in no time by S-Bahn to Frankfurt. So finally I also managed to see Taunus though it was already dark night ;).

IAA 2003

Today I went with my colleague from work, Bernhard, to the IAA to do a quick round to see the newest attractions at Ferrari, Porsche and everywhere else. Especially I fancied the coupes from Aston Martin and BMW. Take a look!

Annette’s birthday

Yesterday night we celebrated into Anetka’s today’s birthday. First we went to see a really boring Russian movie “The lonely voice of a man” by Aleksandr Sokurov or maybe it was only boring because we did not get into the communism mood, except of Borys, but even he was relieved that it was finally over after 90 min.. After a few cocktails in NYC on Schweizer Str. with this really slow and dumb waitress. Anyhow at the end we waltzed into Anetka’s birthday and had a couple of this Italian booze.

Corean and other movies

This time some news out of Frankfurt’s diverse cinema scene: On Sunday opened the first Corean Film Festival Coreaction in the German Cinema Museum. The opener was “Oasis” – a strange love story between a wired man and a spastic ill woman.

On Monday Martin and me went to another not usual cinema the so called “have a look cinema” (Mal Seh’n Kino) where we looke the rather boring french movie Le Fils.

To top all this we went also on Tuesday the the pictures and saw in the original version “Phone Booth”, which was really exciting and so much different to most people’s opinions.

Schirn at Risk and more…

Last Friday I went finally to visit “Studio Bar” – one of Frankfurt most famous meeting points for the young and beautiful among us. The penthouse atmosphere on the first floor is not too bad, but nothing special. People are nice too look at, but not more. All in all disappointing – maybe just the wrong day because there was only easy-listening in the background.

Beside working on my last paper for Warsaw (already three pages out of too many…) Annette and me checked out on the last day running the exhibition “At your own risk” in the Schirn. It was said to be interactive and so it was. We tried out all the installations among them the champagne bar with real fizz to suck – on top of this bar should be a beautiful hostess, but we came too late :(. Beside this we went into a real house, which was totally messed up and smashed by all the accidents that can happen there. See some pics!
