Migration to Movable Type completed

After nearly three months and lots of trial and error I finally managed to migrate my_blog from Blogger to Movable Type.

Now you can comment my entries, track them back (somehow the shown trackback url does not work) and now my_blog has als a proper feed. Nevertheless, the search function template is still the default one and some minor issues with the categories need to be fixed. However, I will try to reblog from October till now some blog-worthy events.

Mozilla Firebird – the future of web-browsing!

Since yesterday I am an enthusiastic user of Mozilla Firebird, which is really the fastest and most convenient browser I have ever used. Additionally it comes along without any advertisments and one can be sure that it will be developed steadily further because of its open source idea. Right now Firebird is just a technology preview in its 0.7 version, but I am using it as my primary browser though it is even more stable than Internet Explorer ever was. And beside Firebird the new version of Mozilla 1.6 has recently been released, which comprises a whole Internet application suite with an eMail and newsgroup client, an IRC chat client, and HTML editing tools – based on Netscape’s design.

The most striking innovative features are in my eyes of all Mozilla products, including Firebird: The embedded pop-up blocker and search engine, which I already extended with the LEO Dictionary search tool, as well as the download manager. But above all the tabbed-browsing now allows you even more seamlessly than in Netscape 7 to navigate and organize yourself while doing some research or other things online. Not to mention that also the security and the better transparancy of your privacy are arguments to use Mozilla.

Nevertheless I am now using Firebird as my primary browser I will keep on using IE for mission critical tasks, like online banking and purchaeses over the web. But I am looking forward that and this is going to speed up when more and more people do join Mozilla & Co. Find here 101 reasons why Mozilla is better than the IE. So what are you waiting for?!
