Bayreuth Festival 2004

Yesterday I had the great pleasure to attend the one and only Bayreuth Festival to see Richard Wagner’s Tannhäuser on invitation of a consultancy and the Young Artist’s Festival Bayreuth.

The opera (in German) was astonishing in every sense – though it was a replay of Philippe Arlaud’s performance in 2002. Not only the outstanding performance of the actors and the colorful modern stage design – as shown above in the second act on the Wartburg, but also the whole atmosphere on the hill.

Definitely a visit of the Bayreuth Festival is a Must – not only for Wagner fans – and it will hopefully not be my last one.
